PowerScale FAQ

Questions about the factory

Answers about PowerScale's account saves, energy puzzles, machines, resource tiers, offline progress, mobile play, alpha status, and Dyson sphere goals.

What is PowerScale?

PowerScale is a sci-fi incremental factory automation game for web and mobile browsers. You solve energy puzzles, charge batteries, power machines, craft resources, advance through tiers, and build Dyson spheres around real stars.

Is it free to play?

PowerScale is currently available for alpha testing in the browser. The game includes in-game upgrades, and future purchase systems may be added as the project develops.

Do I need an account?

No account is needed to try PowerScale. Guest mode lets you play Tier 1 immediately, but cloud saves, reports, purchases, and Tier 2 progression require creating an account with either email or username.

What do players do in the game?

Players generate energy, run machines, mine ores, refine ingots, craft components, manage production slots, pin recipes, install generators, buy upgrades, and progress toward orbital construction.

How does energy work?

Energy is stored in a battery. Puzzles and passive generators charge the battery, while machines consume power during production cycles. Battery capacity, generator output, machine clock modes, and upgrades all affect how efficiently the factory runs.

What are machines and recipes?

Machines are production categories such as Miner, Smelter, Constructor, Assembler, Fabricator, and Orbital Fabricator. Recipes define what a machine consumes, how long the cycle takes, how much power it draws, and what resource it outputs.

What are tiers?

Tiers are major progression milestones. Tier 3 introduces battery upgrades and generator systems, while later tiers expand into advanced materials, orbital production, and star-map goals. Current progression runs from Tier 1 Iron Bootstrap to Tier 9 Orbital Launch.

What are Dyson spheres and stars?

In late-game PowerScale, the Orbital Launcher opens a star map. Players choose real stars, provide the required orbital resources, and build Dyson spheres for permanent additive bonuses.

Does the game support offline progress?

Yes. If the player is away long enough, PowerScale can replay eligible factory activity using stored machine states, inputs, battery charge, generator output, upgrades, and offline efficiency.

Is the game in alpha?

Yes. PowerScale is currently in alpha. Systems may change, balance may be adjusted, bugs may appear, and progress resets may happen while the game evolves.

Will progress ever reset during testing?

It can happen during alpha if major systems change. The game is still evolving, and progress resets are possible while the core experience, balance, and account systems are refined.

Is it playable on mobile?

Yes. PowerScale is designed for desktop and mobile browsers. The interface adapts for smaller screens with mobile-friendly menus, touch controls, and responsive public pages.

Where can players start?

Players can start at playpowerscale.com. Create an account or log in, then follow the in-game tutorial to learn energy puzzles, batteries, machines, inventory, tiers, pins, and upgrades.
